THE STANISLAUS COUNTY FAIR SELECTS NEW CEO

Turlock, CA (March 31, 2023) – The Stanislaus County Fair Board of directors hired Kimberly A. Williams today as Chief Executive Officer for one of California’s most popular and innovative fairs praising her for her leadership and plans for an exciting future.

An experienced businesswoman and longtime fair executive, Kimberly will succeed Matt Cranford and assume responsibilities on March 31. Cranford resigned his position as Fair CEO to pursue other Fair/Event related opportunities at the California Exposition and State Fair.

Williams is the first woman CEO to lead the Stanislaus fair.

Williams graduated Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of the Pacific. Over the years she has been involved with fairs in many different capacities from Concession Auditor to Accounts Payable to Operations Manager. Her first job was at the Chowchilla Fair in the administration office booking commercial vendors and processing entries for the Chowchilla Stampede.

Kimberly has since worked at over 25 annual fairs, 18 of which have been here at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. “It’s the industry’s importance on community and family values, the emphasis on discovery and learning, and the richness of traditions that keeps me coming back. While my love for this fair is steeped in those traditions, it is enriched and inspired by my visions for the future.” said Williams.

The fair business is multi-faceted. For the past ten years, Kimberly has served as Operations Manager for the Stanislaus County Fair holding a wide range of managerial responsibilities. She eagerly takes on challenges through creativity, collaboration, and conviction leading her teams to great successes. Every year she designed and executed the layout of the grounds, with a mission to boost revenue and enhance patron experience.

Stanislaus Fair President Ray Souza said “Kim is one of the most talented fair executives I’ve known, and our board is so excited to have her lead our fairgrounds and build it into one of the most dynamic venues in California. We know she will inspire all of us.”

The mission of the Stanislaus County Fair is to provide a family and community-oriented experience promoting agriculture, entertainment, and technology. STANCO IS READY TO SET THE CITY ON FIRE WITH ROCK AND ROLL! “Blue Öyster Cult” July 14, 2023

Turlock, CA (March 31, 2023) – “Im burnin’ for you” to Rock out with us Friday night!” At the Stanislaus County Fair, where Life is happening!

The Stanislaus County Fair welcomes Platinum Album, Rock and Roll Band, “Blue Öyster Cult” Friday July 14, 2023, at The Coors Light Stage at 8:30 p.m.  The concert will be hosted by 104.1 The Hawk and is free with the price of Fair admission.

“I’m mostly looking forward to the electric guitar solos, in songs like ‘The Reaper’ and ‘I’m Burnin’. You’re not gonna want to miss this epic performance!’” said Jose Piña, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. We are looking forward to rock out with Blue Öyster Cult this year.

For over five decades, Blue Öyster Cult has been thrilling fans of intelligent hard rock worldwide with powerful albums loaded with classic songs. Indeed, the Long Island, NY-‐based band is revered within the hard rock and heavy metal scene for its pioneering work. Blue Öyster Cult occupies a unique place in rock history because it’s one of very few hard rock/heavy metal bands to earn both genuine mainstream critical acclaim as well as commercial success.

The band is often cited as a major influence by other acts such as Metallica, and BÖC was listed in VH1’s countdown of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.

Upon the release of BÖC’s self-‐titled debut album in 1972, the band was praised for its catchy-‐yet-‐heavy music and lyrics that could be provocative, terrifying, funny or ambiguous, often all in the same song. BÖC’s canon includes three stone-‐cold classic songs that will waft through the cosmos long after the sun has burned out: The truly haunting “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” from 1976’s Agents of Fortune, the pummeling “Godzilla” from 1977’s Spectres and the hypnotically melodic “Burnin’ for You” from1981’s Fire of Unknown Origin. Other notable BÖC songs include “Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll,” “Then Came the Last Days of May,” “I Love the Night,” “In Thee,””Veteran of the Psychic Wars,” “Dominance and Submission,” “Astronomy,” “Black Blade” and “Shooting Shark.”

The intense creative vision of BÖC’s original core duo of vocalist/lead guitarist Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser, and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Eric Bloom are complemented by Richie Castellano on guitar and keyboards, and the longtime rhythm section of bass guitarist Danny Miranda, and drummer Jules Radino.

We realized we’re a ‘classic rock’ band. That’s what we are, that’s what we do best, and that’s what we know. The band members are proud of BÖC’s classic sound, and pleased the band is creating vibrant work for disenfranchised music lovers who don’t like the homogenized, prefabricated pop or sound-‐alike, formulaic rap-‐metal, which monopolizes the radio airwaves and best-‐seller charts.

BÖC has always maintained a relentless touring schedule and an album of new material THE SYMBOL REMAINS was released October 9th 2020 to rave reviews.

The 2023 Stanislaus County Fair is July 7-16. Discounted Fair admission tickets, unlimited ride wristbands, and the Fair season pass will be on sale beginning Saturday, April 22, 2023.
