Stanislaus County Fair & Vintage Faire Mall Sponsor Youth Fair Exhibitor Scholarships

TURLOCK (August 26th, 2021) – The Stanislaus County Fair and the Vintage Faire Mall are thrilled to announce a partnership that will award three scholarships to Youth Fair Exhibitors. Macie Quillen, Jack Reid, and Analillia Scroggins will receive $1,000 scholarships to help with their expenses from 2021 and to start their ag projects for 2022. The first-time exhibitors showed remarkable determination, great attitudes, and hard work in their efforts. We are excited to help continue their ag education with the support of Vintage Faire Mall!

FFA recipient Macie Quillen of Central Catholic FFA exhibited strength and capability on her first steer project. She started her project in October 2020 with the help and guidance of her father, who was undergoing chemo treatments. Late in the 2020-2021 school year, Macie’s father lost his battle with cancer. Macie was devastated and worried she’d be unable to see the project through, but with love and support from her community and family, Macie gave it her all. Her steer project went off without a hitch. She has truly exemplified the qualities of earning a youth Fair exhibitor scholarship.

4-H recipient Jack Reid of Hilmar Colony 4-H participated at the Stanislaus County Fair with his first market lamb. The mighty lamb came into the fair as strong as an ox, weighing 131 pounds. Jack would walk that lamb without a halter, even when the lamb gave him trouble or dragged him through the mud. Jack’s smile never waned during the hardest moments, and he’s proven more than worthy of a youth Fair exhibitor scholarship.

Grange recipient Analillia Scroggins is a founding member of Turlock Grange and has been involved in Community Cultivators as a junior member. She began her swine project this year, practicing showmanship with her hog and exercising it to increase its endurance. She has shown understanding about the process of raising and showing hogs, and hopes to inspire younger members to become involved with agriculture. She will duly receive a youth Fair exhibitor scholarship for her efforts.

The Stanislaus County Fair wants to thank Vintage Faire Mall for partnering with us on this important endeavor. It’s essential to bring up and nurture the next generation of ag exhibitors, and Vintage Faire Mall’s dedication and assistance has been instrumental in making these scholarships possible.

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2021 Youth Fair Exhibitor Scholarships! We are looking forward to what they and other youth exhibitors bring to the arena at next year’s fair.
