The Stanislaus County Fair Welcomes

“Plain White T’s”

July 10, 2023

Turlock, CA (March 17, 2023) – “Hey there Delilah what’s it like at StanCoFair?”  I heard “Life is happening at the Stanislaus County Fair!”

We are excited to have the Grammy nominee American Rock band, “Plain White T’sMonday July 10, 2023, at The Coors Light Stage at 8:30 p.m. Sponsored by Boyett Petroleum.  The concert will be hosted by KHOP 95.1 and is free with the price of Fair admission.

“It’s as easy as one, two, three, four!” The only thing I want to do is sit back and listen to their acoustic melody!  said Jose Piña, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. We are looking forward to having Plain White T’s, a true American Rock Band with us this year.

Since emerging in 1997, the GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum Chicago quintet—Tom Higgenson [vocals], Tim Lopez [lead guitar, vocals], Mike Retondo [bass], and De’Mar Hamilton[drums]—has amassed an enduring, engaging, and enigmatic catalog, spanning two gold-certified offerings All That We Needed (2005) and Every Second Counts (2006) and unshakable anthems such as the double-platinum “1,2,3,4” and platinum “Rhythm of Love.” Among the discography, “Hey There Delilah” went quadruple platinum, topped the Billboard Hot 100, and earned a pair of 2008 GRAMMY® Award nominations in the categories of “Song of the Year” and “Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.” Along the way, the five-piece logged countless miles on the road in front of sold out crowds in nearly every corner of the globe. After a whirlwind tour cycle supporting 2015’s American Nights, the guys hunkered down and began writing the ideas that would eventually comprise Parallel Universe, slated for an August 2018 release. The band’s endlessly hummable signature melodies still shine at the center of this galaxy, but their Universe morphed into an otherworldly atmosphere of ethereal electronic pop strengthened by lush guitar tones and synth transmissions. Expect new music in 2022 from the Plain White T’s. For more information, visit:  https://plainwhitets.com/

20/20 VEGGIE CONTEST

Turlock, CA (March 14, 2023) –Stanislaus County Fair’s Kids Club Educational Program has once again partnered with the Turlock Unified School District (TUSD) child nutritional program, Real.Fresh. to promote healthy eating throughout the summer and school year.

This is the Seventh year the Stanislaus County Fair has partnered with TUSD to launch the 20/20 Fruit & Veggie Contest. The contest, which begins on Monday, April 17th, was created to reward students for their nutritional choices. Elementary students will keep track of their healthy eating choices by using punch cards. The intention of the partnership is to support healthy food choices by promoting access to fruits and vegetables.

“Our kids club program educates our children on agriculture and how our county provides organic food options from our local farmers,” said Jose Piña, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “With a partnership involving our Kids Club and TUSD’s child nutrition program, we can successfully introduce them to making innovative approaches to nutritional and tasty choices.”

Over the span of 20 days, students who choose one fruit or vegetable option for their lunch will receive a punch on their punch cards. Once the card is complete, it will be entered into a grand prize drawing. Four students from each elementary school in the Turlock Unified School District will be randomly selected to win a Stanislaus County Fair Family 4-Pack (which includes ride tickets). The school with the most Stanislaus County Fair Kids Club signups will have a BBQ party at the end of the year.

“TUSD Child Nutrition is extremely grateful for its partnership with the Stanislaus County Fair to educate children on the importance of eating more fruits and vegetables. As a registered dietitian, my ultimate goal is to encourage healthy and nutritious lifestyles to promote lifelong wellness.” – Jennifer Lew-Vang, MBA, RD, Director of Child Nutrition at Turlock Unified School District.

TUSD’s child nutritional program, Real.Fresh., is committed to providing nutritional information that promotes children’s health by supporting healthy eating habits, as well as being physically active.  TUSD provides nutritional information on all menus and works hard on having their website include resources that support healthy food choices through increased consumption of fruits and vegetables. TUSD’s partnership with the Kids Club program at the Stanislaus County Fair encourages students to continue making healthy food choices in the summer – and throughout their lives.

Children that are registered in the Kids Club program will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills at the Fair! By filling out a passport book used to travel around the Fairgrounds, kids will be answering math, science, art, livestock and agriculture-related questions. Once they finish answering all their passport questions, the kids can turn in the passport to the Information Booth at the Fair for a chance to win (4) pack Great America tickets from KAT Country 103.  Kids Club members will also receive a tote bag with fun items from our sponsors, as well as two carnival ride tickets. Parents can sign up their kids now at http://stancofair.com/kidsclub/.

“Genuwine”

July 8, 2023

Turlock, CA (March 10, 2023) – “Tell me,  Stanislaus County Fair,  do you want to listen to slow jams together?” “The dance floor is jumpin’ and the music is pumpin!” At Stanislaus County Fair, where Life is happening!

The Stanislaus County Fair welcomes multiple Double Platinum Award Winning, R&B Artist, “Genuwine” Saturday, July 8, 2023, at The Coors Light Stage at 8:30 p.m.  The concert will be hosted by 98.3 KWNN and is free with the price of Fair admission.

“All the bachelors will be looking for a partner on this R& B night. Come on, jump on the opportunity to see this amazing artist perform a song everyone knows!” said Jose Piña, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. We are looking forward to having Genuwine, American R&B singer, with us this year.

They say that “if it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it.”  Yet, according to the best-selling R&B groundbreaker Ginuwine, there’s a corollary to that time-honored adage: namely, just because it ain’t broke don’t mean you can sit around and rest on your laurels.  If you’re an artist, you’ve got to push yourself.  Mature.  Expand your creative horizons.  And make sure your fifth album is at least as memorable and important as your first — and give it all the show-stopping soul power you’ve got.

Back II Da Basics, Ginuwine’s fifth Epic Records/Sony Urban Music CD, is fueled by the expansive artistry and vitality that Ginuwine’s fans have come to expect while the man’s new music raises the bar on his already high standards.  Featuring production by Jazze Pha (Ciara/Monica), Troy Oliver (2001’s “Differences”), The Underdogs and TrackMasters, the album is chockfull of songs that make you want to hit the club. Back II Da Basics is the sound of Ginuwine reconnecting, reaffirming and reigniting the passion that makes his music so real, memorable and, well, genuine.

In 1999, Ginuwine proved that lightning sometimes strikes twice with his second double-platinum LP, 100% Ginuwine, which entered the pop charts at #5.  The first single “So Anxious,” became a massive crossover hit, while “What’s So Different?” and “None of Ur Friend’s Business” scored on the R&B charts.  In 2001, Ginuwine dropped The Life, which, as he’d done previously, entered the charts in the Top 5 and went platinum-plus (to date, all four Ginuwine albums have achieved that prestigious mark).  The set’s second single, “Differences,” triumphed as Ginuwine’s biggest pop hit yet, hitting #4 on the Hot 100.  The following year, “G” displayed his versatility by making his feature film debut in the 2002 comedy “Juwanna Man.” Over the past several years, he’s also appeared in other TV and film projects, including “Half & Half” and “Honey.”  “I love acting! I love doing sitcoms; that’s something I really want to do more of,” exclaims the multi-faceted R&B superstar. With 2003 came the release of The Senior, which resulted in another R&B chart/radio hit (“In Those Jeans”), another platinum certification and a sold-out Ladies Night Tour (also featuring Brian McKnight, Joe and label mates Jagged Edge).

With ten years in the game, Ginuwine is as hungry as ever, yet grateful for what he’s accomplished.  “My career has been a blessing,” he says.  “I know that some folks thought that after ‘Pony’ I was just a novelty and they wrote me off, but I am living proof that you can do it.”
