HI-DE-HO, COME ENJOY THE SHOW!

Turlock, CA (April 24, 2019) – The Stanislaus County Fair is getting ready to welcome the incredible late ’60 s Jazz Rock band, Blood, Sweat, & Tears.

The Stanislaus County Fair welcomes Blood, Sweat, & Tears, Saturday, July 13, 2019.  This fusion group will be performing on the Coors Light Variety Free Stage at 8:30 p.m. The concert will be hosted by 104.1 The Hawk and is free with the price of Fair admission.

“Blood, Sweat, and Tears will be a fun addition to the Fair this year,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “The beloved band’s spirit and liveliness has impacted many artists and on July 13th they will impact many fans.” Blood, Sweat & Tears is not the first band to ever use a horn section, but they are the first to fuse it with rock, jazz and some blues thrown in for good measure. From the first ensemble in the late sixties practicing in a loft on Bleeker Street in New York’s Greenwich Village and having crowds clapping on the street below between songs, founding member and drummer Bobby Colomby knew they were on the right course. Since then, the band hasn’t stopped touring – for over 50 years! The first Blood, Sweat & Tears album, “Child is Father to the Man,” was released to little fan fair. After band member changes, the second album self-titled, “Blood Sweat & Tears” was a success, rising to the top of the charts for seven weeks and yielding 3 top 5 singles. The album received the prestigious Grammy award for “Album of the Year” in 1970. That album went on to earn quadruple Platinum status with sales of over 4 million units.

Blood Sweat & Tears went on to receive 10 Grammy nominations and winning three, among many other awards. Blood Sweat & Tears has had many configurations over its 50 plus years of touring. Blood Sweat & Tears is NOT a tribute band; far from it. Considered the first All Star Band before changing band members was common but one thing for sure is that the music is timeless and fans are never disappointed. The band members are always looking to inspire the next generation of musicians. Don’t be shy – walk up and talk to them. To this day Bobby Colomby (founding member) still handpicks the musicians for every tour. Colomby still uses the same theory: “Great Musicians Make Great Music.” Please enjoy the show!
