stanislaus Fair hosts an evening with Michael Bolton

            Turlock – Guests are in for a treat when Michael Bolton brings his rendition of Sinatra’s swingin’ classics to the Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock.

            In support of the May 23 release of his newest album, Bolton Swings Sinatra, Michael Bolton will light up the FoodMaxx Arena on Sunday, July 30 at 8 p.m. Tickets for An Evening with Michael Bolton--go on sale Saturday, June 3.  This headliner concert will be hosted by Sunny 102.3.

            “We are pleased to announce Michael Bolton will be our third headliner concert at the 2006 fair,” said Tony Leo, chief executive officer of the fair. “An evening with Michael Bolton will round out our headliner concert series with a touch of class and sophistication.”

If you made a list of performers who have sold more than 53 million records, won multiple Grammy trophies for Best Male Vocalist and countless other honors, earned a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, and sold out arenas worldwide, Michael Bolton would be on that list.  But if you tallied all the artists who’ve sung with Luciano Pavarotti and Ray Charles, written songs with Bob Dylan, penned hits for Barbra Streisand and KISS, played guitar with B.B. King and been sampled on a track by hip-hop superstar Kanye West (featuring megastar Jay-Z), Michael Bolton would be the only name on that list.

International superstar Michael Bolton has taken on another extraordinary challenge with Bolton Swings Sinatra (in stores now). The collection finds him singing classics like “New York, New York,” “Night and Day” and includes a duet with special guest Nicolette Sheridan on “The Second Time Around.” Supervising the arrangements and orchestrations down to the last note, Bolton has created an affectionate, dynamic tribute to some of the greatest recordings of the 20^th century. ·        Huey Lewis and The News with special guest Paul Thorn: Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 8 p.m.

The Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 95^th year. The 2006 fair opens Friday, July 28 for a 10-day run. The theme of this year’s fair, “Pig Out on Family Fun,” is sure to provide a good time for kids and adults alike. The fair has twice been honored with Modesto Bee Reader’s Choice Awards for “Favorite All-Around Event.”
