HI-DE-HO, COME ENJOY THE SHOW!

Turlock, CA (April 24, 2019) – The Stanislaus County Fair is getting ready to welcome the incredible late ’60 s Jazz Rock band, Blood, Sweat, & Tears.

The Stanislaus County Fair welcomes Blood, Sweat, & Tears, Saturday, July 13, 2019.  This fusion group will be performing on the Coors Light Variety Free Stage at 8:30 p.m. The concert will be hosted by 104.1 The Hawk and is free with the price of Fair admission.

“Blood, Sweat, and Tears will be a fun addition to the Fair this year,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “The beloved band’s spirit and liveliness has impacted many artists and on July 13th they will impact many fans.” Blood, Sweat & Tears is not the first band to ever use a horn section, but they are the first to fuse it with rock, jazz and some blues thrown in for good measure. From the first ensemble in the late sixties practicing in a loft on Bleeker Street in New York’s Greenwich Village and having crowds clapping on the street below between songs, founding member and drummer Bobby Colomby knew they were on the right course. Since then, the band hasn’t stopped touring – for over 50 years! The first Blood, Sweat & Tears album, “Child is Father to the Man,” was released to little fan fair. After band member changes, the second album self-titled, “Blood Sweat & Tears” was a success, rising to the top of the charts for seven weeks and yielding 3 top 5 singles. The album received the prestigious Grammy award for “Album of the Year” in 1970. That album went on to earn quadruple Platinum status with sales of over 4 million units.

Blood Sweat & Tears went on to receive 10 Grammy nominations and winning three, among many other awards. Blood Sweat & Tears has had many configurations over its 50 plus years of touring. Blood Sweat & Tears is NOT a tribute band; far from it. Considered the first All Star Band before changing band members was common but one thing for sure is that the music is timeless and fans are never disappointed. The band members are always looking to inspire the next generation of musicians. Don’t be shy – walk up and talk to them. To this day Bobby Colomby (founding member) still handpicks the musicians for every tour. Colomby still uses the same theory: “Great Musicians Make Great Music.” Please enjoy the show!

“Una Noche” at the Stanislaus County Fair

Turlock, CA (April 4, 2019) – Boy band mania is coming to the Stanislaus County Fair with iconic pop and contemporary R&B group 98° Degrees!

98° Degrees will be performing at the Stanislaus County Fair Saturday, July 20, 2019 on the Coors Light Variety Free Stage at 8:30 p.m.  The concert will be hosted by KHOP 95.1 and is free with the price of Fair admission.

“It’s always wonderful to have a talented group such as 98° Degrees come to our Fair,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “Guests will feel their passion and the iconic band will take them on a memorable journey of songs from the late 90’s and early 2000’s.”

In five short years — from 1997 to 2002 — the Pop & Contemporary R&B vocal group,  98° Degrees sold a staggering 10 million records, scored a chart-topping single, “Thank God I Found You,” with Mariah Carey and Joe, and collaborated with their collective idol, Stevie Wonder, on “True to Your Heart,” for the 1998 animated Disney film, Mulan. Their four-million-selling album, 98° and Rising (1998, Motown), spawned the top-5 favorites “Because of You,” “I Do,” and “The Hardest Thing,” while 2000’s Revelation (Universal Records), which sold two million copies, peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and yielded a trio of hits, “Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche),” “My Everything” and “The Way You Want Me To.”

The group emerged at a time when teen-oriented acts such as the Spice Girls, The Backstreet Boys and NSYNC were just hitting the top of the charts around the world. They differentiated themselves from many of the other teen bands at the time as they wrote much of their own material, which reflected their own R&B influences.

Over the past 15 years, all four members have enjoyed other careers outside of music. Nick, who was recently on Season 25 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, launched a successful solo music career and has starred on TV shows both as an actor (The WB’s Charmed and One Tree Hill) and as a television host (VH-1’s Big Morning Buzz Live, NBC’s The Sing-Off). Drew was crowned season two winner of Dancing with the Stars, been on Broadway, and both brothers opened Lachey’s Bar (A&E). Timmons joined members of Backstreet Boys and ‘NSYNC for VH-1’s Mission Man Band and Nick Carter’s Sci-Fi feature, Dead Seven. Timmons is involved in various media and cause related projects stemming from his foray into politics as a mayoral candidate of Cincinnati.
