Who Will Reign Champion of the Destruction Derby?

Turlock, CA (May 31, 2018) – The Turlock Lions Club is bringing their popular Derby back to this year’s Fair – but with a twist!
The Stanislaus County Fair will be the go-to place for this summer’s metal-on-metal destruction, which will be held Monday, July 16 and Tuesday, July 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the FoodMaxx Arena. Yet, Derby II on July 17 will have direct involvement from Stanislaus County’s younger members of the community. The Lions Club has asked high school students from their respective high schools to build their own vehicles and have their administrators drive the cars during the event.
“We want the younger generation involved with the Derby in order to keep our traditions going for the next few years,” said Buster Lucas, Turlock Lions Club’s Head of the Derby. “Putting together such a competition will generate interest from the younger demographic for future events.”
